For example, by inviting him into a cool room and opening the window so that the air exchange in the room is good. The healthy air inhaled can relax tense muscles and tendons.

You can also take him around the neighbourhood to get some fresh air. Giving him time to rest can also be an option. Let him sleep for 1-2 hours until he feels calm.

If your child makes physical contact when angry, stop immediately. Sit him down for a few minutes until his anger subsides.

Teach Children to Express Emotions

Teach them a variety of good emotional words so that they understand what they are feeling. Hitting, kicking, throwing, screaming happens because children don’t know how to express their feelings verbally.

When teaching your children how to manage their emotions, don’t let them bottle up their anger. Divert all the adrenaline rushes to positive, productive yet harmless activities. For example, running, cycling, swimming or other sports activities can be an option to manage children’s emotions.

Empathise with Children

By empathising, you can understand your child’s feelings by not judging them. When children feel comfortable, they will openly say what caused their anger.

The child will not hide anything from you. Talk heart-to-heart. Help your child recognise their feelings without you blaming them.

Be an Example and Role Model for Children

Set Boundaries

You can also teach your child to write on a piece of paper. Let them write their frustration and anger on the paper. Drawing or painting can also be a productive activity that children can do to vent their emotions.
